Summary
Jira Worklog Reports has no developer-operated backend. It runs entirely in your browser inside Jira, on the Atlassian Forge platform. The vendor does not receive, collect, store, or have access to any of your data. Your Jira data is processed only within your Atlassian site and your own browser, under your own agreement with Atlassian.
What the app does
Jira Worklog Reports is an Atlassian Forge app that adds a "Time tracking" page to a Jira project. It displays and summarizes the worklogs that the viewing user is allowed to see in that project, and lets them export the displayed data as a CSV file.
Data the app accesses
When a user opens the page, the app reads the following from Jira, using the Jira REST API and the permissions of that user:
- worklog entries: date, time spent, and comment
- the issue each worklog belongs to: key, summary, and issue type
- the name and account ID of the worklog author
This is accessed through the Forge scopes read:jira-work and read:jira-user. The app never writes to Jira.
How the data is processed
- All processing happens in the user's browser, inside the Jira page.
- The app has no backend, no Forge Functions, and no Forge storage. The vendor does not store, cache, or log any Jira data.
- The app does not send data to any server outside Atlassian. It does not make external network requests, and all of its code and assets are bundled with the app.
- The app does not use cookies, analytics, advertising, or tracking of any kind.
- The optional daily-norm settings (hours per day and working days) are stored in your browser's local storage on your device. They contain no Jira data and are never sent anywhere.
- Jira data exists only in the page memory while the page is open. It disappears when the page is closed or reloaded.
Roles and responsibility
- The vendor does not receive, access, or process your data, and therefore does not act as a data controller or data processor for it.
- Your organization, as the owner of the Jira site, determines who may install and use the app, which worklog data is recorded in Jira, and how it is used.
- Atlassian hosts the platform on which the app and your data run. Atlassian's handling of data is governed by your agreement with Atlassian and the Atlassian Privacy Policy.
- You are responsible for ensuring that your use of the app complies with the laws, regulations, employment rules, and internal policies that apply to you, including those on employee time tracking and personal data.
Permissions and visibility
The app respects Jira permissions. Each user sees only the worklogs they could already see in Jira, and the app cannot show anything beyond that. Visibility is determined by Jira and your site's configuration, including any group- or role-restricted worklogs, not by the vendor.
CSV export and clipboard
If a user exports a CSV, the file is generated locally in the browser and saved to the user's own device. If they use Copy CSV, the displayed data is copied to their device's clipboard. The vendor does not receive either export. The user and their organization are solely responsible for storing, protecting, and sharing exported files and clipboard contents.
Data sharing, retention, and deletion
The vendor does not receive, hold, sell, or share any customer data, so there is nothing to retain or delete on the vendor's side. Data stays in your Atlassian cloud site and remains subject to your own retention and deletion practices. If you uninstall the app, it no longer has any access to your data. Locally stored settings can be removed by clearing your browser's site data.
Accuracy and no warranty
Figures shown by the app are calculated from the worklog data available in Jira at the time of viewing. The app is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied. The vendor does not guarantee that the displayed or exported data is complete, accurate, or suitable for payroll, billing, invoicing, compliance, or any other decision. You should verify such data in Jira before relying on it.
Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, the vendor is not liable for any loss or damage arising from the use of, or inability to use, the app. This includes data exposure, misuse of exported data, incorrect or incomplete reports, interruptions or changes in the Atlassian platform or Jira APIs, and any indirect or consequential loss. Nothing in this policy excludes liability that cannot be excluded under applicable law.
Atlassian
The app runs on the Atlassian Forge platform. Atlassian's handling of data is described in the Atlassian Privacy Policy. The vendor is not responsible for Atlassian's practices.
Children
The app is not directed at children.
Changes
If this policy changes, the date above will be updated. Material changes that involve new data access will be reflected in the app's requested permissions, which a site admin must approve. Continued use of the app after a change means you accept the updated policy.
